Our Story

Originally founded in 1978 as Marimon Business Systems, we have provided comprehensive business solutions and award-winning technology services to Houston for over 4 decades. After joining the Flex Technology Group (FTG) family of companies in 2017, we have since expanded our company to the Houston, Dallas, Texarkana, and El Dorado marketplaces where we continue to establish ourselves as an industry innovator focused on amazing customer service.

Our relationship with Flex Technology Group has been a game-changing combination for the Marimon team and has allowed us to offer our customers, partners, and employees the benefits of a larger organization and expanded scope of solutions and services. Thus, in efforts to more closely align our business and identity with FTG, we have since changed our name to FTG Texas, effective July 1, 2020.

As FTG Texas transitions to this next phase of growth, there will only be one result: seamless, quality service. Our goal remains the same, which is to bring the best partners in the industry to you. Partners like Canon, Lexmark, and HP to bring you state-of-the-art technology and best-in-class products to deliver a customized solution to fit your specific business needs. Brad Yocum

Brad Yocum

VP of Sales, FTG Texas

Brad Yocum’s professional journey in the Office Technology industry began in the late 90s with ComDoc Office Systems. Commencing his career in sales, Brad’s innate leadership abilities propelled him into product leader roles. He played a pivotal role in introducing the first connected devices capable of printing, scanning, and copying, showcasing his foresight in technological advancements.

His influence expanded as he spearheaded the introduction of the first color-connected copiers for the Ricoh product line. Embracing his passion for team development, Brad transitioned into sales leadership, ultimately assuming the Regional/General Manager role for Northeast Ohio & Western Pennsylvania.

In 2000, Brad embraced entrepreneurship, co-founding a startup in the Construction/Engineering field, VEC Systems. Under his leadership, the company burgeoned into one of the Midwest’s largest in its field, doubling in size over the first seven years and establishing offices in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Florida.

Maintaining close ties with the ComDoc group, Brad returned to the Technology industry after their acquisition by Xerox. Over the subsequent five years, Brad’s strategic leadership contributed to his teams achieving new milestones, including a 100% increase in profitability and customer satisfaction.

Brad made the Lone Star State his home nine years ago. In this time, he has spearheaded initiatives in both the hardware and software industries, taking on roles that demanded realignment and new direction. Brad’s passion lies in creating innovative programs and cultivating new areas of growth, all while deriving genuine joy from witnessing the development of others.

As Brad takes on a new chapter with Flex Technology Group in the Texas market, his enthusiasm for the future is palpable. With a track record of success and a commitment to innovation, Brad Yocum is excited about the future of Flex TG’s continued growth and success.

VP of Finance, FTG Texas

Andrew Franz is a highly effective financial executive with over 30 years of experience in accounting, operations, and marketing. He served as the controller for the company for 13 years when it was still Marimon Business Systems. Franz stepped into his current role as Vice President of Finance in 2018 and maintains this crucial aspect of the business today for FTG Texas.

Ty Porter

Ty Porter

Director of Sales, FTG Texas

Tylenthia Porter (Ty), MBA, MSOL, is the Director of Sales for Flex Technology Group North Texas and Southern Arkansas. With over 27 years of experience working for renowned manufacturers such as Xerox, Ricoh, and Konica Minolta, she has established herself as an industry leader in sales, marketing, and customer relations.

Prior to joining Flex Technology Group, Ty was the Branch Manager for the Dallas Marketplace at Konica Minolta where she managed the Commercial Print team and later led its Strategic Major and Vertical Market team. Ty also worked at Ricoh US where elevated her career from entry level sales executive to leading sales teams whose focus was UPS Stores, SLED-Government, and Fortune 500 accounts.

Ty attended Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, where she majored in computer science, concentrating on computer programming. Majoring in this field provided her with a foundation in technology that would prove invaluable in her future endeavors. She later went on to obtain a master’s degree in business administration and a second master’s in organizational leadership.

Customer satisfaction is a top priority for Ty, and she believes that trust is key to establishing and maintaining meaningful relationships with clients. Her history of leading successful sales teams, accountability, and delivering exceptional service has earned her a sterling reputation within the industry. Ty understands that by her group prioritizing customer relations, they can foster long-term relationships and drive the success of Flex Technology North Texas and Southern Arkansas.
